Opening with a super melodic track characterized by powerful female vocals and not quitting for the next three tracks, I was left craving more. This four-track EP is a driving power-punk release with as much emotion as energy. Meaghan has vocals that soar while the music uses creative tempo changes and addictive rhythms to suck you in. © 2000 Impact Press

Spank
This is one of those EPs you can’t get enough of - four great songs, each of which are worth your full attention and the seeds for what I hope will be a full-length release very soon. Idle Hands is the latest project for Meagan Ball, the former lead singer of Copper. This girl has got what it takes - her poised, soaring vocals are backed by crisp arrangements that bring to mind a more subtle Dahlia Seed. But it’s Ball’s vocals that fetch your attention, followed closely by well-written lyrics. © 2000 Spank

Eventide
I'm not sure what I'd make of these four songs musically if a vocalist other than Meaghen Ball (formerly of Copper) was singing over them. It's solid, poppy music that's not unlike Gameface. However, Ball's vocals are overpowering (in a good way); they work with the music in some places and provide a countermelody in other places. Catchy and well-played, these four songs are Idle Hands' announcement that they've arrived, and urge the listener to keep an eye on them. © 2000 Eventide

Law Of Inertia Magazine
Yes, meaghan from copper is finally back and it's not the silly sappy emo stuff she did with her previous band. Having relocated to SoCal, her new band, incorporating members of suburban empire, is fast and melodic in a not quite punk, not quite emo way, and let me tell you, it rocks. meaghan always had a great voice, but this time armed with a vicious power-chord attack she has never been showcased better. I'm sure meaghan would be dimsayed that everyone will inevitably call this her band 'cause the driving rhythm section is really what makes this band so dynamic. Plus, who ever thought the label that brought Brother's Keeper to the world would be into this stuff? But if Trustkill keeps puttting this kind of stuff out then you won't hear me complaining a bit. © 2000 Law Of Inertia Magazine

Value Of Strength
The vocalist of this band, Meaghan, was also the singer for the band Copper. After she moved out to Southern California she started a new band, with a more refined and poppier sound. Musically these four songs sometimes make me think of Gameface, but most of the time the guitars of Idle Hands are faster. To give you an indication of the vocals, think of Baby Gopal. On these 4 tracks Idle Hands most of the time isn’t really ready yet to reach the high level of the earlier mentioned bands. But these songs are still played very well. I always like listening to bands like this, because it’s really nice music listening and singing along to, and in one way or the other tunes like this always cheer me up. © 2000 Value Of Strength

Heckler
Put together some kids from a hardcore band, and a female in the front, and you get something so grand: Idle Hands. With vocals reminiscent of Discount, but with crunchy, heavy music backing it up. Fast paced, and just enough to make you want to hear this 4 song EP over and over. I like the heaviness of the power chords being strummed with the soothing voices. It's a good combo. © 2000 Heckler

Status
This is an odd type of music to cover for Trustkill, but good for them. The more diverse, the better. Idle Hands features Meghan, formerly of Copper on vocals. The band is very poppy and often very good, but overall this didn't do too much for me. I think the name "Meghan from Copper" is the key seller here, and not so much the music. It seems to get a little old, but if you're a fan of Belly of Velocity Girl you will dig this. The art on this record is awesome though, sweet layout, two thumbs up. © 2000 Status

I Stand Alone
The aforementioned band makes me want to shake my ass. One word: poppy. This band reminds me of a happier version of Samuel. Overall this is one of the better I reviewed this issue. So buy, jerkie. © 2000 I Stand Alone

Endwell
Think back a few years and recollect EVR recording artists Copper. Remember them? They were a highly emotional post-hardcore band with some of the best female vocals around. Well-Meaghan, the voice behind Copper, is back. She and her band mates are on the Left Coast this time. Even though I always liked Copper, I always felt they needed a swift kick in the ass as far as the pace was concerned. My wish has been answered. Idle Hands is much faster, punkier, and way less emo (stereotypically speaking). And, that's a beautiful thing. It might seem a bit self-evident, but Idle Hands will blow up and, in the end, probably garner the notoriety of the that other band, Copper. © 2000 Endwell

Core Magazine
After listening to these four songs you are in the best mood you can imagine. Sweet uptempo emo like Gameface, mixed with beautifull vocals, by ex-Copper singer Meaghan, who can be compared to Sri. It’s just like an angel peeing in your ear. These songs are so unbelievably catchy, that even the common cold will be jealous. This stuff is totally different than your usual Trustkill release, but just like the label says it’s about the quality and that is something Idle Hands unmistakeably has. Idle Hands will release a full length on Trustkill in spring of this year, I just can’t wait for that. © 2000 Core Magazine

Hanging Like A Hex
Thank fucking god! Meghan from Copper fame is back, this time on a different coast, with a new band of rockers, and their first ep does not dissapoint in the least. Four songs of straight up rock, with the slightest of edge to it, but still keeping that poppy feel to it. Honestly, not really much like Copper, besides the vocals, but better, if you can picture that. They are already on Trustkill, and I have heard talk of a full length in the very near future, so they are not about to stop pleasing the folk by stopping, like Copper uncerimoniously did. Mix Gameface and the Cranberries, and this is what you get. C'mon, you stopped reading after i said "ex-Copper" and ordered it, so why did I even go this far? © 1999 Hanging Like A Hex
