UPCOMING RELEASES
Here's what's gonna be playing on your iPod in the future. Release dates are not written in stone, and are subject to change.
The Dallas boys will hit the studio this April to record their debut full length. Behind the board will be producer Casey Bates, responsible for bringing you excellent records from Chiodos, Pierce The Veil, The # 12 Looks Like You, and more. Get ready for the best debut album of 2008!
Singer Chase Ryan checked in from the studio to say "So far we're having a blast. We're out in the burbs of Seattle hanging out making some sweet ass new songs that we think will kinda catch everyone off guard. They are very reminiscent of the EP but have a new twist that is entirely their own. They are much more complex and interesting songs, but still have that raw, almost southern sound to them; and in a way are more progressive and heavy. Recording with Casey is awesome. He's super chill and above all, wants us to be happy with the record. We are super excited to get these songs out asap, I'm sure you will dig em'!"
WALLS OF JERICHO promises a new full length album for this Summer! The music will definitely follow the mesh of metallic venom and concrete fury of hardcore/punk that the band is known for. Of the album, Candace says “We’ve been trapped in this house together living and breathing music. We’re literally in the middle of woods between two cornfields. We’re putting all that we have into this new record, and trust me; it will be extremely heavy. Right now we’re calling it a ‘thrash metal delicacy’ ” After they finish writing the band heads into the studio with producer Ben Schiegel (Chimaira/Zao/Ringworm).
The band is also gearing up for this summer’s first Rockstar Mayhem Festival featuring Slipknot, Disturbed, Mastodon, and Dragonforce to name a few. The tour is set to kick off July 9 at the White River Amphitheatre in Seattle and will hit Live Nation Amphitheaters in 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada between July 9 and August 19, 2008.
BLEEDING THROUGH has set "Declaration" as the title to the follow-up to "The Truth". The band will be recording beginning in April with producer Devin Townsend (LAMB OF GOD, SOILWORK, DARKEST HOUR) and is said to be a "concept album" about the rigors of being away from home.
"Every song will be named after a different city or state," BLEEDING THROUGH frontman Brandan Schieppati tells Revolver in the magazine's May 2008 issue. "There are definitely places when we're traveling where every time we go there, we're like, 'Fuck, why do we have to be here?' Like, we'll be in France and all of a sudden we'll feel totally insignificant. You get the feeling that people's eyes are just burining a hole through you."
According to Schieppati, "Declaration" will be heavier than its predecessor. "I think it bridges the gap between 'The Truth' and [2003's] 'This Is Love, This Is Murderous'," he tells Revolver. "The melodies are darker, the riffs are heavier. We just wrote a really aggressive record that encompasses everything we've ever tried to do as a band and then raised the bar a notch or two."
Brooklyn's favorite hardcore workhorses MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD will hit The Wild Arctic this Spring to record their 4th full length album. At the helm will be Dean Baltulonis, responsible for the last two MPB albums.
Guitarist Justin Brannan says of the new material, "While all our spineless contemporaries reach for the stars we've returned to our roots. The new songs are short, fast, hard and mean. We wrote an album to remind us of the stuff we grew up on; the music that got us into hardcore when we were teenagers. We harnessed that raw energy and power; the unbridled passion of those days at CBGB's and basements and VFW Halls across the country, sleeping on concrete floors and shoplifting for fun; back when it felt like you were really part of something different. We've checked the rock n' roll ambitions and delusional fantasies at the door and wrote a hardcore record like only we knew how."
The Buffalo boys of IT DIES TODAY are hard at work on their new album "LIVIDITY" due out this Fall on Trustkill. Armed with new singer/lyricist Jason Wood the band promises a much heavier album than "Sirens", but keeping with that classic IDT sound that we have all come to love. Check back here for studio updates!
Singer Jason Wood checked in from the studio to say...
"We're really pumped about this new record! Lividity is a medical term (as I am a huge fan of CSI) that means when you die all your blood in your body settles, so where you're lying is a bruise covering that part of your body. Metaphorically for example someone who's life is very stagnant or unmotivated. The common theme of the record is going to be character flaws such as the song "Nihility", about nihilism or absolute destructiveness. We've decided to record the album ourselves seeing as we have an amazing engineer (Mike Hatalak) in the band. The plus side to this, is that we have endless time in the studio to perfect the record. Now i'm sure everyone who cares has heard the rumors of a heavy record, well it's true! We're writing a lot more 'Caitiff Choir' like riffs and we're working on a more raw and ballsy atmosphere for this record. Expect sincerity, passion, and FUCKING POWER!"
The Bay Area's heaviest band will hit the studio in January/February of 2008 to record their follow-up album with producer Zach Ohren (All Shall Perish). Expect the crushing hardcore/metal you have come to love from FIRST BLOOD with more lyrics that will question everything around you. GET STOKED!
Singer Carl Schwartz said "Thankfully there hasn't been a shortage of stuff in the world to be pissed-off about, so this upcoming album will be nothing short of brutal - and quite possibly the most critical, condemning, and controversial material we will ever release. For fans of FIRST BLOOD - Yes, this album will be every bit as heavy and crushing as the first, and then some. But the focus of this album resides in the message. There is simply too much going on in the world today to ignore, and if we are going to dedicate our time and lives to writing music and constantly touring the world while getting very little in return, then we might as well make it worth it and MAKE A F***ING STATEMENT. I find this world becoming increasingly hostile while the powers that be continue to undertake massive efforts to induce us all into passivity, conformity, and false sense of comfort. Well, life is not comfortable and it is our turn to stir the pot."
TOO PURE TO DIE will hit the studio with acclaimed Producer Zeuss, responsible for Trustkill classics like Throwdown's "Vendetta" and Terror's "Always The Hard Way", in addition to Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, and more. The band will be laying down new songs this June, so get yer dancin' shoes on.
Singer Paul Zurlo checked in and said, "We are all very excited to release the new songs we have been working so hard on! The album is a first time contribution for some of us and it has brought on a renewed energy. The guys have been holed up in Iowa, and I in New York for the past few months writing what we all agree is the best material this band has put together to date. It has us going in a new direction but not straying too much from 'Confidence & Consequence'. It offers so much more vocally and musically then C & C did. It's bouncier, heavier, and a bit more mature. We incorporated elements of everything from melody and rock, to metal, and of course, breakdowns. There is a blend of something for everyone on this record! Lyrically it touches on real life situations and struggles that one would face on a day to day basis. I've never been one to write about getting my heart broken or whining about things no one gives a shit about. I've always preferred to "keep it real" and this new record is as real as it gets. We have very high expectations for the new material and feel it returns to where we came from but is also a step toward the future!"
